HATD's Hope-Farming program is an initiative aimed at strengthening the resilience of rural families, particularly in the province of North and South Kivu, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Here is a presentation of the program's intervention axes and successes:
Areas of intervention:
Agricultural entrepreneurship: Encouraging the creation and development of agricultural businesses to stimulate the local economy and provide employment opportunities.
Training and education: Training programs for farmers in modern farming techniques, business management and sustainability.
Market access: Helping farmers access local and regional markets to sell their produce at a fair price.
Infrastructure improvement: Development of rural infrastructure, including irrigation systems and roads, to facilitate farming and the transport of goods.
Technical support: Provision of ongoing technical support, including access to quality seeds and advice on crop and livestock management.
Program success:
