In Goma , Villages and IDPs camps, several initiatives are underway to combat gender-based violence (GBV), promote sexual and reproductive health, and support pregnant women through prenatal consultations (ANCs).
1. Fight against GBV:
Awareness campaigns are conducted to educate the community about the different forms of GBV and their consequences.
Care centres provide medical, psychosocial and legal support to survivors of violence.
Trainings are organized to build the capacity of health professionals and law enforcement in the management of GBV cases.
2. Sexual and reproductive Health:
HATD is providing Educational programmes aim to inform young people and adults about sexual and reproductive health, including the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and family planning.
3. Reproductive Health services
Reproductive health services are available in local health centres, offering tailored consultations and treatment.
4. Prenatal consultations (ANCs):
Pregnant women receive regular antenatal visits to monitor their health and that of their baby.
Workshops and information sessions are held by HATD to prepare expecting mothers for childbirth and postnatal care.
Community-based initiatives encourage women to participate in ANCs to reduce the risks associated with pregnancy and childbirth.
